Qiang Huang. What wonderful paintings! This is an artist who paints frequently (daily during the week and usually a painting over the weekend as well!) and it shows! Qiang (pronounced Chong) is a brilliant man who began his career in optical engineering (with a Ph.D. in physics!). Qiang took workshops from well known artists and eventually transitioned to a full time artist. His work reaches so many, and he continues to be a well sought after workshop instructor.
Be sure to check out his blog, which he frequently updates. In addition to painting he keeps his website pretty darn current and keeps up with social media, etc. No easy task for sure! Brilliant paintings, wow!

BIO
Qiang Huang (pronounced Chong Wong) was born and raised in Beijing China and now lives in Austin, Texas. His interest in art developed at a young age, strongly influenced by his uncle, Hong-En Huang, a professional painter and art educator. For various reasons, he was unable to attend professional art institutions, studying science and technology instead. He moved to America in 1985, obtained a Ph.D. in physics in 1993, and embarked on a career in optical engineering. Meanwhile, he remained active in local art communities. To further develop his artistic skills, he attended classes and workshops. He studied with well-known artists like David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw, Scott Burdick, and Caroyn Anderson. In the summer of 2012, Qiang attended the graduate school of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and studied with well-known figurative artist, Zhaoming Wu. Qiang is a guest artist with the Putney Painters, and has painted multiple times with the modern masters of representational art, Richard Schmid and Nancy Guzik. Qiang’s paintings are known for their remarkable accuracy and expressive brush strokes He is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America. Qiang is represented by the InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg, the Capital Fine Art Gallery in Austin, and the Marta Stafford Fine Art Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas. Qiang is also a self-represented daily painter. He showcases his updated work on his blog, and markets his paintings in online auctions. Qiang uses the internet efficiently and shares his ideas and techniques about his art journey as well as his thoughts and feelings about the world on his blog. Thousands of artists follow his painting blogs and communicate with Qiang regularly. He has been teaching workshops on still life painting and the on-line art business since 2008. Utilizing his training in the technical fields, his teaching is well organized, informative, and easy to follow. Many artists have attended his workshops multiple times, and have seen significant progress in their own art. Qiang’s still life work was featured in Southwest Art magazine in March, 2011. American Artist Magazine featured his art and teaching in the 2009 summer issue of the “Workshop” Magazine and his art was featured again in the April 2014 Artist Magazine.
