Sherri Cassell a California native was born and grew up in Santa Paula, a small town located in the Santa Clara Valley surrounded by lush avocado, orange and lemon orchards. She remembers as a child looking up at the beautiful mountains surrounding her home town and playing underneath the tall eucalyptus trees. This was the beginning of her love for the California landscape.
Sherri freelanced in commercial art for several years before devoting herself to fine art which is her true passion. Sherri is an impressionistic landscape painter and her focus is the California landscape; she paints in plein air and also her studio. The majority of her work is in pastel she loves the rich colors and tactile quality of this medium, she also enjoys working in oils. Sherri is an award winning artist who has studied with accomplished national and local artists Tony Allain, Bert Collins and Glenna Hartmann as well as studying on her own by going through many miles of paper and canvas.
