Mark Farina. He paints all subjects – all are just beautiful. It looks like most of Mark’s work is plein air (painted from life – outdoors) – he’s able to catch the spontaneity of changing light/colors. Mark’s studio paintings have the same fresh feel to them, they aren’t overdone – which is no easy feat!
There are so many stunning elements in this painting – that SKY, the beautiful color of the water, the movement of the surf, the light on the rocky coast, the deep dark green in the trees that make everything else shine and that peaceful color of the horizon in the distance. Wow.

Read a bit about Mark, from his website:
I went to Florida State U. on a partial golf scholarship, but only played for my freshman year. I became interested in art and it became my main interest for the remainder of my college education. After graduating from college I made a livelihood in both golf and commercial art. I moved to the Monterey Peninsula in the early 80’s and free-lanced as a graphic designer and illustrator. During this period I was also painting in watercolor and oil. Inspired by the spectacular scenery of the Monterey Peninsula I started painting en plein air, or outside on location. This became a passion and eventually fine art painting became my full time vocation.
My interest in subject matter is not limited to just the landscape, I also paint still-life, architecture and figures.
