The first paintings I saw of Marie’s were of horses. I couldn’t believe it. Such emotion and life! The painting above is so dramatic with the light on the mane and whiskers against that dark background and horse. Almost like a photograph. Marie Channer resides near Nederland Colorado. Her love for horses and the west gives her inspiration for her horse paintings and landscapes. She also enjoys painting dancers and recently has completed some Flamenco pieces. When not in her studio, she enjoys studying Old Masters techniques, touring galleries and museums studying other artist’s work, or teaching a class about painting in oils.
